Easter Sunrise Worship at Camus Cemetery
Thirty-six brave and hardy souls braved the clear and frosty air to attend the first Eucharist of Easter which was celebrated at Camus Cemetery, a 6th Century site of monastic worship beside the River Bann.  The Service began with the Kindling of the Paschal Fire, an ancient liturgical ceremony and the sun rose from behind the hills as the sacrament was received.  It was a beautiful calm clear morning.
Afterwards parishioners and visitors enjoyed tea and bacon butties in Mrs Joey King's farmyard adjacent to the cemetery.

Mike & Lorna light the flame from the fire which is later brought to the church to light the Paschal candle at the 1030 morning service in St Mary's Church
