The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
St Mary's Church Macosquin observes 'The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity'
On Sunday 22 January the Church of Ireland in Macosquin marked The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity with a service which had an interdenominational and international flavour. The Order of Service which had been prepared by the Churches of Poland reflected the struggle of the Polish people during many years of occupation and deprivation and the deep Christian faith which had helped so many to endure and overcome the trials of the last century. The guest preacher was the Revd Tom Mawhinney MBE, a retired Presbyterian Minster from Limavady. The Roman Catholic church was represented by soloist Bernard Loughery (pictured) who is a frequent visitor to the church in Macosquin and has recently compiled a CD of popular Spiritual songs.
The Service was conducted by the Rector, assisted by members of the congregation.
