2013 Christian Aid Week in Macosquin

Kenny Campbell and Alistair Platt with the team of ladies who baked scones and served coffee for this year's Christian Aid Week Coffee morning which was organised by Janet Kennedy (second from right) and held at St Mary's Church in Macosquin.

Some of the people who supported the coffee and scones event held  by St Mary's Church in Macosquin which raised £100 for the 2013 Christian aid Appeal  'Take a bite out of Hunger.' The church also organised the annual Christian Aid house to house collection around the village, making people aware of the plight of the 870 million in the world who have insufficient food.
Christian Aid was founded by leaders of the churches in Great Britain shortly after the Second World War  because of the desperate need of millions throughout Europe at that time.  Since then it has developed into the major charity of the churches in Britain and Ireland, providing help wherever it is needed, as a Christian response to disasters and  emergencies world-wide.
